For many years now, we’ve made it a practice to look back over the year as it draws to a close and recognise the milestones and achievements of the last 12 months. It helps us to continue to strive forward using our past experiences as a guide. So, here is our review of 2022 and some of the main highlights…

This year we were particularly delighted to receive the IWantGreatCare Certificate of Excellence, which is awarded to clinicians, nurses and healthcare providers who have received overwhelmingly positive feedback from patients.
IWantGreatCare is the world’s leading independent patient data and insights platform with over six million healthcare reviews from patients around the world. The Certificate of Excellence is an annual award based solely on patient ratings and reviews. As an orthopaedic surgeon, Andrew Carrother’s primary aim is to help more people to regain their mobility and quality of life and to live without chronic pain. So, it is hugely rewarding to receive comments like this, picked out at random from some of our most recent feedback…

Mako Robotic Arm Assisted Surgery – another great year
It has been another year of progress with regards to Mako robotic arm assisted surgery at Carrothers Orthopaedics. We have now completed 510 hip and knee partial and total joint replacements using Mako robotic arm technology, which helps to improve accuracy in implant placement, reduce the risk of complications and enhance recovery.
We have written many articles about Mako to provide information about this state of the art technology that many of our patients are now choosing over conventional surgery.
In 2023, Mr Carrothers is committed to continuing to use Mako robotic technology where appropriate for the patient and further provide his skills and expertise as one of only a handful of surgeons in the area that are able to offer Mako robotic arm joint replacement surgery.
Assistant professor
In other news, in 2022 Andrew Carrothers served this year as an Assistant Professor at The University of Cambridge; a role that Mr Carrothers has been proud to accept and fulfil.

A team effort
