The end of one year and the start of the next, always seems a good time to reflect, as well as look forward. Here Mr Andrew Carrothers shares a personal note to all his patients as 2019 draws to a close.
Over the past 12 months, I have seen countless patients seeking help for their injuries or chronic diseases like arthritis. Ultimately, whilst each patient case is vastly different on many levels, there remains a constant theme. All the people that come to our practice for help, are hopeful of a better quality of life, with less aches and pains so they can do more of the activities they love, whether that is competing in marathons or playing with the grandchildren.
To all our patients, it has been a pleasure to help you on this journey back to good orthopaedic health this year, and I continue to wish you all the very best in 2020 and beyond.
I would also like to personally thank all those people who have taken a few minutes from their day, to leave a review on the independent review platform, I Want Great Care. These reviews are so valuable to other patients who can then hear real-life accounts of how others have been cared for and treated, and it gives them reassurance that their own battles with pain can also be overcome. Thank you!
As many of us know, living in pain is never easy. Even minor twinges that are there every day can grind down energy levels. Severe and chronic aches and pains can be debilitating. This is why if you are suffering, don’t delay in seeking the help and support you deserve. If you see friends and family in continual pain, encourage them in 2020 to take action and see what could be done to change their circumstances. Anything is possible and worth exploring.
“Please note, 7 week post-surgery you may experience such side-effects as a ridiculous amount of smiling and all-round joy at not being in pain…” IWGC verified patient, review 8 September 2019.
I will continue to work hard in maximising each and every patient outcome in the next year, with the support of my fantastic team, which includes other surgical colleagues, nurses, anaesthetists and administrators; as well as the vital post-operative care provided by physiotherapist, osteopath and chiropractor colleagues. It really is a team effort.
“Mr Carrothers has the support of first-class colleagues; I received outstanding, attentive care from the Consultant Anaesthetist, Dr Razeen Mahroof, and Mr Carrothers’ secretary, Carol, is delightful and highly efficient.” IWGC verified patient, review 22nd October 2019.
I will also be continuing with important research that can help patients far wider than my own practice too, in the world of orthopaedics.
Wishing you and yours a very happy holiday season and a healthy new year!
